DO CLASSES RUN ALL YEAR ROUND?
Classes at Flashdance run the same dates as the Victorian school terms. Classes DO generally operate on public holidays unless otherwise advised. For all upcoming events please see our Key Dates to see our 2023 Calendar!  

 

WHAT LEVEL SHOULD MY CHILD BE IN?

Our classes are primarily set up by age group, however we will not keep any students in a class that is clearly not to his or her level. We will make changes within the year as needed to properly group our students in the best level to suit each child.  We work on base age formats but always ensure that each student is in the class that promotes the most amount of growth for the individual.

CAN MY CHILD START CLASSES AFTER TERM 1?
Enrolments to Flashdance Performing Arts will be subject to availability, however, Term 4 enrolments will be made at the discretion of the Director of Flashdance Performing Arts, as classes will have already started working towards end-of-year performances.

WHAT IS AN ELITE PERFORMANCE GROUP?

Flashdance Performance Groups are designed for dancers with a serious commitment to dance training and those looking for a higher level of excellence. Acceptance into Performance Group is by audition only.

In this intensive training environment dancers will discover just what it takes to become an all-round versatile performer through the package put together to explore the vital aspects of performing arts.

It is compulsory for all students participating in Elite Performance Groups to be a part of 2 Ballet classes per week as ballet classes are considered the foundation of all classes at Flashdance. 

Elite Performance groups are expected to have a high level of attendance and there training hours are significantly increased.

Those who are accepted into an Elite Performance Group will be trained by some of Australia's  leading professionals as well as having the opportunity to work with guest choreographers & teachers.
